Due to the Coronavirus spreading like wildfire all over the world, a lockdown was imposed all over the nation. Due to the lockdown, shoots in the entertainment industry were brought to a halt. Amidst this, Sonakshi was slammed by filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri for being papped while she was at a shoot. But the actress made sure to set the record straight. She even asked Mumbai Police to intervene, in order to stop people spread ‘fake news’ amidst the Coronavirus crisis.
Recently, Vivek took to his Twitter handle to share a news report carrying a picture of Sonakshi stepping out of a studio in Mumbai. In his post he wrote, “Who shoots in such times?”

To this Sonakshi bashed the director saying it was a throwback picture. “Being a Director and member of many unions and film bodies one would expect you to be better informed that Absolutely NO one is shooting since studios are shut and its a national lockdown! I believe Classic freeze frame means throwback in @MumbaiMirror terms,” she clarified that the photograph was taken last year, when she shot for Farah Khan’s chat show, ‘Backbenchers’.

The ‘Dabangg’ actress also asked Mumbai Police how one can stop people from sharing baseless rumours and fake news in the given time. She tweeted, “Excuse me @MumbaiPolice @OfficeofUT what is the procedure to stop people from spreading rumors and fake news at a time like this? Asking for a responsible citizen, sitting at home, practicing social distancing and NOT shooting – ME ??♀️.”

But this war of words did not stop there as Vivek told Sonakshi that he was not accusing her, instead he was taking a dig at the tabloid for insensitive journalism. To which Sonakshi replied, “U haven’t tagged who ur taking a dig at, nor did u mention source of the picture. Nor hv u replied or clarified to anyone attacking me after ur statement. Rule no.1 of taking a dig-dont post someone else’s picture 2 take a dig at someone else, be specific. Thank you & goodbye.”
