Sonakshi Sinha’s ‘Khandaani Shafakhana’ to release with ‘Jabariya Jodi’, avoiding clash with ‘Mental Hai Kya?’

Just recently, Sonakshi Sinha and Badshah’s fans were treated with the trailer of the family drama-‘Khandaani Shafakhana’. After creating quite a buzz on the release of the film, the makers have now shifted the release date to clash with Siddharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra’s ‘Jabariya Jodi’ at the ticket counters i.e on August 2. Earlier the film was slated to clash with Kangana Ranaut-Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Mental Hai Kya?’ and Diljit Dosanjh-Kriti Sanon’s ‘Arjun Patiala’.

Sonakshi took to her Instagram handle a little while ago and announced the change in the release date of ‘Khandaani Shafakhana’, which will now hit the screens in August this year. With the update, she also shared yet another poster of the film also featuring Varun Sharma and Badshah. Check out the post here below.

The plot of the film is set in the backdrop of Punjab which portrays Sonakshi Sinha as a quirky modern girl who adores her family and is willing to do give up on her dreams to see her family happy. ‘Khandaani Shafakhana’ is being helmed by Shilpi Dasgupta, co-produced by Bhushan Kumar, Mahaveer Jain, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, and Divya Khosla Kumar.

On the other hand, Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra’s wedding drama ‘Jabariya Jodi’ has already undergone several changes with the release date. Helmed by Prashant Singh and co-produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor, the film is slated to hit the screens on August 2. Will the change in release dates help the prospects of the movie, whose trailer was seemingly not so funny? We will have to wait and watch.
