Sonakshi Sinha Opens Up On Her Long-Standing Curfew

Reflecting on her long-standing curfew, Sonakshi Sinha told Hautterfly, “I had a curfew of 1:30 AM even after I started working. It stayed in place until I was 32. Zaheer had the biggest issue with it; every time I broke the curfew, it was because of him, and then I would get scolded.”

She also described her living situation, which made sneaking in late nearly impossible. “I lived in a fortress known as Ramayana, on the 10th floor, while my parents were on the fifth. Our telephone operator, Mr. Jha, was incredibly efficient. The moment my car entered the premises, he would inform my parents, saying, ‘Baby has arrived.’ I even tried asking my man Friday to tell him not to call, but it never worked.”

Sonakshi On Mother Inquiring About Her Return

Sonakshi pointed out that her mother would always inquire about her return the next day. “If Jha didn’t call, I’d lie about it. It’s the same in every household. My parents would start calling from midnight, asking where I was. Mom would scold me, insisting it didn’t look good. She’d frame it around my father, saying, ‘What will he think?’ or threaten to complain to him. But honestly, my dad is the chillest person ever—he has never scolded me.”

In her interview, Sonakshi also spoke about the strong values her mother instilled in her while highlighting that she had also helped her mother understand the perspectives of the current generation. “My mom tried very hard to raise me in a way where I wouldn’t back-talk. Since she grew up in that environment, it felt natural to her. As a mother, she wanted to pass that down. But times have changed, generations have evolved, and now there are many things I teach her as well.”

On the work front, Sonakshi has several web series in the pipeline and is also set to star in the South Indian film Hari Hara Veera Mallu.
