Sonakshi Sinha starrer ‘Akira’ recovers 50% of its investment before its release

Sonakshi Sinha starrer ‘Akira’ will be hitting the screens tomorrow. The movie is Sonakshi’s first female-centric flick, and even before its release it has recovered 50% of its investment.

The budget of the movie is Rs. 30 crore (including P&A) and the film has recovered Rs. 15.5 crore through satellite and music rights.

The surprising factor here is that despite being a woman-centric flick, the film has received a good satellite amount. In fact the price is similar to the satellite rights of the films starring many leading men of the industry.

AR Murugadoss’s previous Hindi films ‘Ghajini’ and ‘Holiday’ were super hit at the box office. It will be interesting to see if the director’s first female-centric will be able to make a mark at the box office or not.
