After dating each other for 7 long years, Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal finally registered their marriage and are now officially husband and wife. The duo opted for a civil wedding ceremony and registered their marriage under the Special Marriage Act earlier today at the actress’ Bandra sea-facing residence.
Soon after the civil ceremony formalities were wrapped in Bandra, the couple headed for South Mumbai to celebrate their union with family and friends. The newlyweds are reported hosting around 1000 guests at Bastian – At The Top. Among the star-studded guests were the bride and groom’s families too.

While the Iqbals were happy about the Sonakshi and Zaheer’s wedding, several media reports suggested the Sinhas were unhappy about the union. In fact, rumours were rift that Shatrughan Sinha was likely to give the reception a miss. However, contradictory to reports, the actress has her family present on her special day.
For the reception, Shatrughan looked dashing in a glossy royal blue dhoti-kurta set as he posed with his wife, Poonam Sinha at the reception venue.
Aside from Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha, Sonakshi’s mama, former CBFC Chairman, Pahlaj Nihalani and other extended family members were also seen at the reception. However, the actress’ brothers – Luv Sinha and Kush Sinha were spotted on the red carpet.
Zaheer Iqbal’s parents complimented each other in white ensembles and were all smiles posing for the paps.
