Sonam Kapoor gets personal with Abhay Deol for his take on celebs endorsing fairness brands

Abhay Deol recently raised his concern over celebrities endorsing fairness products and took a sarcastic jibe on the makers of such ads. Abhay didn’t even spare the Bollywood folks who are a part of such endorsements. From Shah Rukh Khan to Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor, Abhay ranted on Facebook on how these things only encourage racism.

Soon after his rant, his ‘Aisha’ co-star, Sonam Kapoor was the first to respond and seemed quite offended too. She first responded to Abhay’s post saying how he was right and tweeted, “Thank you Abhay, I shot this campaign ten years ago and didn’t understand the ramifications. Thank you for bringing this to the forefront.”

To this Abhay responded, “More power to you @sonamakapoor maybe you can use your power as well to take this further than the forefront.”

But the banter got ugly when Sonam went personal on Abhay and shared a picture of Esha Deol (Abhay’s cousin) promoting fairness cream. She tweeted, “@AbhayDeol I appreciate and concur with your views and would like to know your thoughts on this as well!” Abhay however was pretty certain about his beliefs as he replied, “Is wrong too. For my views read my post.”

This was when Sonam got trolled for taking Esha’s name and she soon deleted all her tweets on the matter. We however have the screenshots of the tweets.
