Sonam Kapoor: Kangana Ranaut deserved Best Actress awards

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has had a field day at every award function. The Diva has won many an accolades for her performance in Queen. On the other hand Sonam Kapoor who was expecting to win after being nominated for several Best Actress awards (for Khoobsurat) this year, didn’t win a single one.

Even though Sonam has lost, she has been all love and praise for her contempories. She praised not only Kangana Ranauts performance buut also of Priyanka Chopra in Mary Kom and Tabu in Haider too.

Sonam said, “The fact that I was nominated was more than enough for me. Kangana Ranaut gave a far more mature performance in Queen. Her role was far more resonant than mine. If I was a jury member, I’d give her the award. Kangana in Queen and Priyanka in Mary Kom were the two best performances in any Best Acting (Male or Female) category, hands down. By no means was Tabu the supporting actress in Haider. According to me the part played by Shraddha Kapoor was the supporting role. Tabu was one of the film’s leads.”

Sonam Kapoor further added that, “The fact that I was nominated was more than enough for me. And while I was given an award for Best Performance in a Romantic Comedy, I wonder why only dramas are taken seriously at awards. If I was still noticed and recognised for Khoobsurat I am happy with that. This was my fourth nomination. Hopefully I’ll be lucky the fifth time.”

Well we too wish the Diva luck for next year.
