Ayushmann Khurrana: Sonam Kapoor is a simple girl at heart

Actor-singer Ayushmann Khurrana is awaiting his next ‘Bewakoofiyaan,’ a romantic comedy opposite fashionista Sonam Kapoor. Ayushmann admits he was not sure about being paired opposite the actress but soon changed his mind after meeting her.

As per sources, Ayushmann said, “I was slightly sceptical in the beginning about what kind of chemistry we would have. She is a fashion icon and I am the boy next door, in real and on screen. When I met Sonam for script-reading sessions, I discovered that she is a simple girl at heart. It was a revelation. I  think under the garb of a fashionista, she is a brilliant actor, a fact which gets overshadowed at times.”

The film also features Rishi Kapoor as Sonam’s father, and Ayushmann says he imbibed an essential quality from the veteran. “Rishi sir expects great competency from actors working with him. He has amazing energy and believes in one-take performance. He believes if you give more than one take the scene  becomes mechanical. Thanks to him I have become a one-take artiste.”
