Sonu Nigam who has been stationed in Dubai since the lockdown was announced, was surprised to see his name being dragged into a controversy he has nothing to do with. Sonu had already spoken up about the same controversy, about him slamming the playing of ‘Azaan’ back in 2017. But once again, the controversy has resurfaced as he is now stuck in Dubai and unable to come back home. The ace singer finally gives his take on the controversy haunting his life all over again.
What started out as an old tweet by a politician coming back to the forefront, quickly escalated to Sonu’s tweets being dug from the past. Tweets that were posted last in 2017 as the singer hasn’t had a Twitter account since then.
Sonu has been actively doing all he can to help those in need during the lockdown. From holding an online concert to spread positivity to opening doors of his Madh Island bungalow for health care workers, the singer has done it all. However, he never imagined that his old tweets dissing the playing of ‘Azaan’ early in the morning, will once again come back to haunt his life now that he is stuck in Dubai due to Coronavirus lockdown.
The last thing Sonu Nigam believes should be to focus on such frivolous things now that people all over the world are going through such stressed-out times. He feels that the tweets, which have brought his name once again into controversy, are old and have given unnecessary reasons to create unwanted furore on social media.
Sonu Nigam believes now is the time for all to come together to overcome this invisible enemy and nothing is more of a priority. He has been in constant touch with his fans through informative, motivating and entertaining videos and the last thing he wants is to be dragged into this controversy unnecessarily.
Before signing off, Sonu clears once again that he hasn’t had a twitter account since 2017 and any other person operating an account under his name are imposters whose content should not be mistaken to be coming from Sonu’s end.
