Actor Sonu Sood has been arranging buses and other transportation for the migrants so that they can reach their homes safe amid the lockdown. While many hailed him for this selfless act, Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Raut criticised the actor saying that there is a political director who is helping Sonu; by which he meant that the BJP government is backing him.
Now, as per a report by PTI, a Mumbai Police official said the actor was stopped by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) when he reached the station on Monday night to meet some labourers. These labourers were to board the Shramik Special train from Bandra Terminus to Uttar Pradesh.
Nirmal Nagar police station’s senior inspector Shashikant Bhandare said, “The actor was stopped by the RPF, not by us. He wanted to meet labourers who were going to their native place. We have not received any complaint regarding this till now.”
Recently, after Sanjay Raut’s statement against Sonu Sood, the actor met Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
Aaditya Thackeray shared a picture with his father and Sonu and wrote, “This evening @SonuSood met up with @CMOMaharashtra Uddhav Thackeray ji along with Minister @AslamShaikh_MLA ji and me. Better Together, Stronger Together to assist as many people through as many people. Good to have met a good soul to work for the people together.”
In another tweet, he wrote, “The CM @OfficeofUT was glad to meet @SonuSood and discussed the work everyone is doing for the people during covid relief. Misunderstandings don’t exist but what does is a commitment to help people.”
