Sonu Sood mortgages his 8 properties

Amidst the Coronavirus induced lockdown, Sonu Sood emerged as a messiah for the stranded daily wagers and students. Even after the lockdown restrictions were uplifted, Sonu has continued with his good deed. He has gone out of his way to help the needy ones.

And if the latest report is anything to go by then Sonu has mortgaged his eight properties in Juhu to raise Rs 10 crore for the needy. Well, looks like when it comes to helping others, nothing can stop Sonu, not even financial constraints.

According to a report in Money Control, Sonu has mortgaged his two shops and six flats in Juhu’s Shiv Sagar CGHS to raise a Rs 10 crore loan. The same report further states that a registration fee of Rs 5 lakh was paid to raise the loan. While the agreement was signed on September 15 and was registered on November 24. The building with the actor’s property is located along AB Nayar Road, near Iskcon Temple in Mumbai.

These properties are jointly owned by Sonu and his wife Sonali. Speaking about the ‘Dabangg’ actor’s philanthropy, Ritesh Mehta, Senior Director & Head – West India, Residential Services, JLL India, was quoted saying as, “Such a philanthropic gesture is unheard of. While these premium properties will continue to be owned by the actor and his wife and would continue to receive a monthly rental, they may have to pay interest and principal against the Rs 10 crore loan.”

However, the actor hasn’t confirmed or denied this report yet. Throughout the lockdown, Sonu went out of his way to help the needy ones. From helping students get back home safely, to donating PPE kits to frontline workers, Sonu has done it all. The actor has also helped the daily wagers find jobs again.

For his selfless work and efforts, Sonu received SDG Special Humanitarian Action Award by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

Well, if the report turns out to be true then hats off to this actor for setting the right example of what real heroes look like.
