Sonu Sood was met with an unfortunate set of events when the income tax department pulled off a raid at the actor’s residence. The IT department reportedly claimed that Sonu had evaded tax of Rs 20 crore. The raid went in for 3 consecutive days but looks like Sonu was unaffected as he believed that there was nothing to hide and that the department was just doing their job.
In an interview with Spotboye, talking about how he has been post the raids, Sonu said, “Zabardast, ekdum on top of the world. The raids continued for four days. Now it’s over. At least, for now. I have absolutely nothing to hide. Most important of all, my well-wishers and supporters are with me. After I re-surfaced on the internet and phone after four days there were 53,000 emails and 8,00,000 messages. Not one of them said , ‘Serves you right’. They were all hugely concerned for my wellbeing. In fact, I think I’ve come out stronger than before, and determined to continue doing all that I can for those who need my help.”

Talking about the effect of the raids on his family, Sonu said that it is alright as the people were just doing their job, “Chalta hai, sir. It’s all part of the system. They were doing their job, as I was doing mine. Eventually, we all have our karma to be unanswerable to. If I’ve done wrong I will be punished.”
Earlier, Sonu had also released a statement on his Instagram finally breaking silence after the raid, that read, “Every rupee in my foundation is awaiting its turn to save a precious life and reach the needy. I addition, on many occasions, I have encouraged brands to donate my endorsement fees for humanitarian causes too, which keeps us going.”
