‘Sooryavanshi’: Akshay Kumar-Karan Johar welcome Katrina Kaif on board

Ever since Rohit Shetty announced his collaboration with Akshay Kumar for ‘Sooryavanshi’, everyone has been eagerly waiting to know who will be cast as the lead actress in this film. After several speculations, it’s finally confirmed that Katrina Kaif has been paired with Akshay in the action-packed masala film.

Karan Johar, who had co-produced Shetty’s last film ‘Simmba’, is teaming up with him once again for ‘Sooryavanshi’. Today, welcoming Katrina Kaif on board, KJo took to the micro-blogging site and made the official announcement.

Previously, Katrina and Akshay have worked together in several hit films like ‘Namastey London’, ‘Welcome’ and ‘Singh is Kinng’ to name a few. Now, that they are teaming up again after a gap of nine years, it would be a treat to watch them romance on-screen once again. They were last seen in Farah Khan’s ‘Tees Maar Khan’ (2010).

With ‘Sooryavanshi’, Akshay is working with Rohit for the first time. So naturally, everyone’s expectations from this duo is already sky high. The action-packed masala film is scheduled to hit the silver screens on Eid in 2020. Interestingly, Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Inshallah’ is also releasing in Eid 2020. So this means Katrina’s film will be clashing with her good friend Salman’s film.
