Sooryavanshi: Rohit Shetty shares a major update on release of Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer

Rohit Shetty hosted Khatron Ke Khiladi 11 is all set to premiere on television on July 17. At the show’s launch that took place in Mumbai today, Rohit Shetty opened up on the release date of his highly anticipating film Sooryavanshi. The film stars Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in the lead role. Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn also have a special appearance in the film

Sooryavanshi was scheduled to hit the silver screens on March 24. However owing to the pandemic and the subsequent lockdown, the release of Akshay Kumar starrer was pushed to April 30. Unfortunately, due to the second wave of the Coronavirus the film’s release was stalled again. At the launch of Khatron Ke Khiladi 11, Rohit spilled the beans on the speculations surrounding the release date of his film.

When quizzed if a date has been zeroed on Sooryavanshi’s release, Rohit said, “The important question is when will theatres open and when the vaccination process is complete. We need to take precautions right now. The important thing is to be safe and only then things will be decided.”

Previously Bollywood Bubble had exclusively informed its readers that the makers of Sooryavanshi are eyeing for Independence Day release. “With Akshay Kumar announcing the release date for Bell Bottom, the filmmakers are now waiting to see how the opening of theatres will be received by the audience. In any case, with Independence Day approaching, the producers and makers are of the opinion that Sooryavanshi might be a perfect release for the date. However, with Rohit Shetty in Cape Town, a final decision is yet to be taken. But, if everything goes well, Sooryavanshi might finally see the light of the day,” a source had informed us exclusively.
