Sophie Turner and fiance Joe Jonas blast racist article on NickYanka’s marriage

Yesterday, an article published by a foreign media outlet on Priyanka Chopra and her marriage created an uproar on social media. The article written by journalist Mariah Smith was full of sexist and racist undertones. In fact, it even labelled Priyanka Chopra as a ‘global scam artist’. The Twitterati, including actresses like Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and others, slammed the publication (The Cut) as well as the writer of the said article.

Commenting on Priyanka’s marriage to American singer Nick Jonas, the writer even said that she feels Nick married into a fraudulent relationship against ‘his will’. Nick Jonas’ brother Joe and his fiance Sophie Turner came out in support of Priyanka and Nick and have slammed the article calling it disgusting and inappropriate. The ‘Game of Thrones’ actress took to Twitter and called out the publication for its outrageous and insensitive article.

Joe also slammed the publication as he wrote, “This is disgusting. @TheCut should be ashamed to have someone write such evil words. What Nick & Pri have is Beautiful Love. Thank u, Next.”

The article titled ‘Is Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’s Love for Real?”, created an uproar on social media and soon, the publication started receiving flak from all over the world.

After receiving backlash, the publication removed the article and it issued an apology. “Upon further editorial review, we found this story did not meet our standards. We’ve removed it and apologize,” read the publication’s editor’s note on the website.
