Sorry fans, ‘Aashiqui 3’ isn’t happening! Mahesh Bhatt will tell you why…

‘Aashiqui 3’, though never confirmed by the makers, has been in news for a long time now. Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor brought the ‘Aashiqui’ magic back on the big screen as a sequel of the film happened in 2013.

Since then, we’ve been awaiting the next film of the franchise. Over the past few months, gossip mongers have suggested many names as part of the cast. This includes Hrithik Roshan, Kangana Ranaut, Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt.

However, the film isn’t really happening; at least not any time soon. Mahesh Bhatt confirmed it to Bollywood Hungama, revealing the reason at the same time. (Also See: Shraddha Kapoor dances like no one’s watching at her friend’s wedding)

“Well there’s nothing serious going in that area as since some time it’s been rumored that she is playing lead in ‘Aashiqui 3’. We are as of now nowhere close to say that it’s happening. The day it happens I’ll be the first person to proclaim that I’m working with Alia Bhatt but we as of now have no such plans to make a film called ‘Aashiqui’ because we’re nowhere close to an idea which is called as go idea and only when an idea gets a hurrah from all of us as in idea to invest in we’ll not make a beginning,” Bhatt said.
