Tamannaah Bhatia

Actress Tamannaah Bhatia, who was last seen in the movie ‘Tutak Tutak Tutiya’ is a sought after name in the South industry and has been working in South movies since more than a decade now. Little did she expect that the industry which gave her so much of fame, would end up defaming her. A well-known director from South, G Suraj passed some sexist remarks on female lead actors in Tamil cinema.

In a video interview, Mr Suraj was seen making some nasty comments against female actresses. He said, “Boys should enjoy the film in the end. My costume designer would present me my heroine covered till her knees. I’d ask him to cut it short. He’d say madam would get angry. I’d reply go tell madam that the audience will end up thrashing me. It’s not for nothing they’re paid in lakhs and crores! I’m not a big fan of the heroine wearing a full saree; if we’re paying good money to watch a film, we should expect Tamannah to be completely glamorous.”

This video went viral but it didn’t go down well with many celebs and actress Tamannaah Bhatia was obviously one of them. She was so upset by his remarks that she left a screening of ‘Dangal’ mid-way to sort out this matter. She sent a tweet expressing her displeasure and sought an apology from the director. Here’s the tweet:

After facing so much of backlash, the director has finally lent an apology. He issued a statement on Monday saying, “My intention was not to show anyone in bad light or hurt their sentiments. I am sorry once again and take back my comments.”

Well, let’s wait to find out if Tamannaah has forgiven the director or not.
