Veteran singer SP Balasubrahmanyam was admitted to hospital after testing positive for Covid-19. Ever since then, he has been under medical observation and later when his condition worsened he was put on a ventilator. Earlier today, we came across reports of the veteran singer testing negative for Covid-19, however rubbishing those reports, the singer’s son SP Charan has released a new video message.
SP Balasubrahmanyam’s (SPB) son SP Charan released a video message in which he refuted all the rumours and said, “I usually post Appa’s health updates after I have a discussion with the medical team from the hospital. But, unfortunately, I am forced to put up a post in the morning. I am the only one who gets the information about dad. All information comes to me first and only then I post it to the media. Today, unfortunately, rumours are going around that dad has tested negative for COVID.”

However, SP Charan didn’t reveal if his father has actually tested negative or not. “Regardless of whether he is COVID negative or positive, the status is still the same clinically. He is still on life support. He is stable, fortunately. We are hoping that the stability will help him recover his lungs as early as possible. So please refrain from rumour-mongering. I will put up a post in the evening after I have a discussion with the doctors,” SP added further.

The rumours of SPB testing negative started doing the rounds when the PRO of SP Charan had released a statement on his behalf which read, “Thanks for Your Continuous Support & Prayers for my father. My father is fine and Stable and his Corona test has become Negative (sic).”
On August 5, the veteran singer had tested positive for Coronavirus. Later he was admitted to MGM Healthcare and soon his health condition worsened. So much so that he was shifted to the ICU and put on a ventilator. The news of SP’s deteriorating health had his industry colleagues and fans worried. Subsequently, they all arranged for the online mass prayer for him. His fans even started trending “#GetWellSoonSPBSIR” and “#SPBalasubrahmanyam” trending on Twitter.
We now hope that the singer gets discharged soon. Until then, you guys stay tuned to this space.
