YouTuber cited forged letters
Last year, the CBI registered a case against Bhubhaneswar’s Deepti R Pinniti, and her lawyer Bharath Suresh Kamath following a complaint from Mumbai-based lawyer Chandni Shah, which was referred to the agency by the PM’s office. The Mumbai-based lawyer had accused Deepti Pinniti of producing several documents, including letters and documents related to the Supreme Court and records from the UAE government, which appeared to be forged.
During Sridei’s death, she made sensational claims, including a ‘coverup between the two governments’ in an interview based on her ‘investigations’. In a response to a PTI query, Ms Pinniti said, “It’s hard to believe that the CBI has filed a charge sheet against me without recording my statement… Moreover, the evidence will be given to court when charges are framed.”
In December last year, the CBI conducted searches at Deepti’s residence in Bhubaneshwar. The agency has filed a charge sheet against her and her lawyer under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including criminal conspiracy.
