Sridevi is known for dance numbers like ‘Naino Mein Sapna’, ‘Hawa Hawai’, ‘Morni Baga Ma Bole’, and many more. However in her previous two films we didn’t really get to see her dancing. While in ‘English Vinglish’ the actress had done one or two steps in the track ‘Navrai Majhi’, ‘MOM’ was a film where dance was not required. However, we are sure fans of Sridevi are keen to see her dancing on the big screen. But, the actress says that she doesn’t want to do a dance film.
While talking to a leading daily, Sridevi said, “I don’t want to do a dance film. I know it’s an exceptional space now and they are working as well. But I don’t think I will try it anymore. Dance karne ke liye bachche hain na (laughs). Why should I get up and start dancing? Woh toh kar liya, dance ho gaya! People appreciated but now, I have moved on from that.”
When asked which genre of film she would like to do, Sridevi said, “I would like to do a comedy. Or something as challenging and dramatic like ‘MOM’ again.” (Also Read: What happened when SRK-Gauri met Sridevi-Boney Kapoor in LA?)
“I would rather take up a role which suits me, a role which I will be proud of, something that my children and my family would feel good about,” the actress added.
Though ‘MOM’ got great reviews from critics, the movie failed to make a mark at the box office.
Talking about her next film, Sridevi had told us, “Well, you all will come to know. But, definitely it won’t take four years this time that much I can promise you.” Few days ago, there were reports Sridevi will be seen in Abhishek Varman’s ‘Shiddat’ which will be produced by Karan Johar. The movie will reportedly also star Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur.
