Sridevi The Life of a Legend: Biography of late actress to be launched soon, confirms Boney Kapoor

The late actress Sridevi is known for being the first female superstar of Indian cinema. Her career spanning over five decades, boasts some of the most iconic works in Indian films. Sridevi ruled the film industry in the ’80s and ’90s and now a biography is soon going to be launched on her impressive life. It is titled Sridevi: The Life of a Legend.

Sridevi: The Life of a legend to chronicle the late actress’ life and career

On Wednesday, Westland Books announced that they are publishing the official biography of the superstar Sridevi. Debutant author Dhiraj Kumar is writing the book and it is aiming a publishing date this year only. According to the publishers, the book will provide a 360-degree portrait of Sridevi. It will also make the readers rediscover the icon in a completely new way.

Boney Kapoor confirms the biography’s launch

Confirming the development, Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor said, “Sridevi was a force of nature. She was the happiest when she shared her art on screen with her fans but she was also a fiercely private person. Dhiraj Kumar is someone she considered family. He is a researcher, writer and columnist. We are happy that he is writing a book that befits her extraordinary life.”

An elated Dhiraj also shares his thoughts on getting this honour. He said, “I am delighted that the venerable Westland Books will be publishing my debut book. My literary agent, Anish Chandy made this happen. I am thankful for the permission and support of Boney Kapoor and his family, Latha and Sanjay Ramaswamy, Suryakala, Maheshwari and Karthik, Reena and Sandeep Marwah.”

Sridevi’s life and career

The late actress started working at the mere age of 4. For the next 5 decades, she ruled the Indian film industry. Her first film was in Tamil, but she went on to work in Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada cinema as well. Sridevi passed away at the age of 54 on February 24, 2018 and her untimely death came as a shock to the whole nation.

In personal life, Sridevi and husband Boney Kapoor have two daughters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor. Janhvi is already an actress and even Khushi is all set to make her acting debut with The Archies.
