Sridevi’s ashes to be immersed today in Rameswaram

The nation lost one of the finest performers of Indian cinema as Sridevi breathed her last on Feb 24th in Dubai. The actress who was attending relative Mohit Marwah’s wedding at the time died due to accidental drowning in the bathtub of her hotel room.

While, the cause of her death was earlier assumed to be cardiac arrest, the forensic reports revealed that she died due to accidental drowning. Her untimely demise came as a huge shock to the nation and her fans are still mourning over her loss.

On Feb 27, her mortal remains were brought back to India via a private jet and the actress was cremated with state honours at Shree Seva Samaj crematorium.

Now, a report in PTI has revealed that an urn carrying her ashes was brought in Chennai yesterday by hubby Boney Kapoor. The ashes will be carried to the holy island town of Rameswaram and immersed in the sea there by Boney Kapoor today, revealed airport sources.
