In a few video footages, Rhea Chakraborty was seen coming out of the morgue of the Cooper Hospital a day after Sushant’s death. She came out after spending around 45 minutes there. She left with three other persons. SHRC chief saw clips of Rhea Chakraborty at the hospital at the time of Rajput’s post-mortem as reported by Mumbai Mirror.
The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) issued a show-cause notice to the management of Cooper Hospital and the Mumbai police over Rhea getting access to the hospital’s mortuary. The report also stated that sources in the police and the SHRC said only immediate family members of the dead person are allowed inside the mortuary.
The SHRC chief MA Sayeed said, “I saw several video clips of Rhea Chakraborty visiting the mortuary at Cooper. I have asked the registrar of SHRC’s legal wing to check the provisions. We don’t know how and under what circumstances the permission to visit the mortuary was given. It should not have been so.”
He further said, “I am treating the matter as urgent and have listed it for August 31.”
One SHRC officer said, “We are investigating how she gained entry when she isn’t related to the deceased. We will have hearings and legal consequences will follow. The police will also have to face the consequences.”
Currently, the CBI is investigating Sushant Singh Rajput’s case. Sushant died on June 14.
