Actor Suniel Shetty has filed a police complaint against a production house for circulating a fake poster of him. In an interview with Mid-Day, the actor said that the producers used his pictures without his permission. He called this action ‘complete fraud’. The complaint was lodged at the Versova Police Station, Mumbai. He told the publication that he doesn’t know whose film it is and who they are and he didn’t even sign it. “They are openly exploiting an artiste. They are trying to get the film financed using my name. This is ruining my reputation and as such, I decided to file a complaint,” said Suniel.

He also took to his Twitter handle to vent his anger against the company. Sharing the article, he tweeted, “Thank you for putting it out there Sami…more than using my picture and financial exploitation it is about exploiting young vulnerable talent!!”

As per a report in Hindustan Times, the production company accepted their mistake. “We were preparing for the casting of our two films keeping two to three actors, including Shetty and Bobby Deol, in mind. We made a poster using their photos just to check how they look. But someone made the posters go viral on social media. The posters were later deleted,” said the manager of the production house. He also clarified that the company was not seeking money from people by showing Suniel Shetty’s photo and poster.

On the professional front, Suniel will be seen in Emraan Hashmi and John Abraham starrer Mumbai Saga. He is also excited for the release of Tadap, his son Ahan Shetty’s debut film.
