Gadar 2 song Main Nikla Gaddi Leke teaser: Sunny Deol promises nostalgia with some freshness in this recreation

In 2001, Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel gave the Indian film industry one of its biggest blockbusters with Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Along with the film’s story, its music also became a rage. The song Main Nikla Gaddi Leke was an instant chartbuster and 23 years later as the film is coming with a sequel Gadar 2, Sunny Deol is also returning with a recreation of the song.

On Wednesday, Sunny Deol dropped the teaser of Main Nikla Gaddi Leke. It features him, alongside Ameesha Patel and on screen son Utkarsh Sharma. The song seems to be set in the backdrop of Lohri celebrations. There is an environment of happiness, colours and excitement around. Ameesha as Sakina seems like a proud wife and mother as Tara Singh and Jeete revolve around her on a scooter. The peppiness of the song is as palpable as it was 22 years ago. The recreation releases on Thursday, August 3.

The original song was crooned by Udit Narayan, who returns for the recreation along with his son Aditya Narayan. Mithoon has handled the recreation of the song. The original composition retained is by Uttam Singh, with lyrics by Anand Bakshi. While the originality brings in the nostalgia associated with the song, the increased tempo of the beats make it a bit more peppy. It surely is going to be a banger and a dance floor favourite. It remains to be seen if Sunny’s iconic hook step from the song also makes a return or not.

Gadar 2 release date

Gadar 2 stars Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma in the lead. It also features Manish Wadhwa, Gaurav Chopra and Luv Sinha. Newcomer Simratt Kaur Randhawa makes her debut opposite Utkarsh. Anil Sharma has returned as the film’s director. Gadar 2 has a release date of August 11, 2023 and it clashes with Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 at the box office.
