Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana has become one of the most-awaited films in the Indian cinema. While the makers are yet to make an official, speculation around storyline and cast are already doing rounds and piquing curiosity for the film. As per the reports, Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash have been finalised to play Lord Rama, Sita, and Ravana in the adaptation of the mythological epic. If latest reports are to be believed, Sunny Deol and Agastya Nanda are also approached for Ramayana.

If reports are to be believed, makers have approached Gadar 2 actor to essay the role of Lord Hanuman. A source cited by a news portal stated, “Hanuman stands for strength and there’s no one better than Sunny Deol in the Indian Film Industry to justify what Bajrangbali stands for. The actor has shown interest in being a part of Nitesh Tiwari’s rendition of Ramayana and is also excited to play the part of Lord Hanuman. However, it’s still early stages of discussion”.

Talking about Agastya Nanda’s role he was roped in to play Lord Rama’s younger brother Laxman. However, he has turned down the project owing to prior commitments. A source was quoted telling Rediff, “Agastya’s hands are full. He has just completed The Archies with Zoya Akhtar and will be deep-diving into Ekkis with Sriram Raghavan. At this stage of his career, he can hardly afford to play second fiddle to another actor.“
Ramayana is expected to go on floors earlier next year. The team is working on top notch VFX to provide a memorable cinematic experience. Looking at Nitesh Tiwari’s filmography, we are surely eager to know more about the magnum opus.
