Gadar 2 teaser: Sunny Deol is back as Tara Singh to defend India

In October 2021, actor Sunny Deol took to his Instagram and surprised his fans by announcing Gadar 2. He shared a motion poster sharing that the wait is finally over and well, it indeed is over as we are just being treated with Gadar 2 teaser. Sunny shared the first glimpse of Gadar 2 on Monday and nostalgia will hit you instantly. And this time, the battle of love and unity continues.

The teaser doesn’t give many details but it has already piqued our interest to see more. Furthermore, it has also got us excited about the trailer. Set in the backdrop of Crush Indian movement of 1971 in Pakistan, we get to see glimpses of Tara Singh in action. His Punjabi warrior vibes and his innocence are still as appealing as they were in 2001.

But what’s missing in the teaser is Tara’s epic love Sakeena. What makes it more intriguing is that Tara Singh is seen grieving over a grave in the teaser. Who is it and how it happens, will surely make the film much more interesting.

For the unversed, the first part Gadar: Ek Prem Katha was released in 2001. It still remains one of the biggest blockbusters of Indian cinema. It depicted a love story set against the backdrop the Indo-Pak partition. In Gadar 2, Sunny Deol will reprise the role of Tara Singh, while Ameesha Patel returns as Sakeena. Utkarsh Sharma, who played their son in the first part, will return as a leading man this time.

Before the release of the second part, the makers of Gadar re-released the first part theatrically so that fans could relive the iconic movie. Only recently, the makers even organised a special screening which was attended by Sunny and Ameesha. The two even cut the cake with the media to celebrate the second part.

Directed by Anil Sharma, Gadar 2: The Katha Continues stars Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in lead roles. The movie is scheduled to release on August 11, clashing with two mega films at the box office. The movie will release along with Akshay Kumar starrer Oh My God – OMG 2 and Ranbir Kapoor starrer Animal.
