Sunny Deol on Gadar 2 vs OMG 2 box office Clash: Competition uss waqt bhi tha jab humne Gadar lagayi thi aur Lagaan thi

Sunny Deol is currently promoting his upcoming release Gadar 2. However, looks like the actor is in no mood to mince his words as he is sharing his thoughts clearly on various controversies. From speaking about drugs in Bollywood, male actors shaving body hair or nepotism debate, the actors has unabashedly voiced his opinion in recent days. And now, Sunny Deol has reacted to the much-talked clash of Gadar 2 with Akshay Kumar starrer OMG 2 which is also releasing on 11 August 2023.

Sunny Deol reacts on Gadar 2 clash with OMG 2

During an interaction with a media portal, Sunny Deol was asked his take on the films clashing. To which he heacted, “Mujhe kuch pata nahi (I don’t know what will happen).” However, he did speak about the events that transpired during the release of Gadar and Lagaan. “Competition uss waqt bhi jab humne Gadar lagayi thi aur Lagaan thi, aur log Lagaan, Lagaan kar rahe the, maine socha hi nahi tha. Meri Gadar hai, jo hoga so hoga (There was competition when Gadar was releasing with Lagaan. People were siding with Lagaan. However I didn’t think much about it and thought we’ll see whatever happens)“.

He went on to share that Gadar did a phenomenal business as compared to Lagaan. He further stated, “When they compare it that way, I say I don’t see the comparison but definitely a good film”. Sunny went on to confess that he has not seen Lagaan. “Lagaan I’ve not seen but it was a good film, very good film,” he said.

Gadar 2 is a sequel of 2001 popular film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Directed by Anil Sharma, the films also star Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma and Simrat Kaur in pivotal roles. Going by the trailer, it looks like this time Tara Singh is heading to Pakistan to save his son Jeete. So far, the film has sold over 30000 tickets for Day 1 in the advance bookings.
