Sunny Deol has returned to the big screen with R Balki’s Chup: The Revenge of the Artist. The movie released in theatres on September 23. It also starred Dulquer Salmaan, Pooja Bhatt and Shreya Dhanwanthary. Sunny has played a police officer in the thriller and the movie has got mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike. We sat with the Chup cast for a conversation where they spoke about fighting nepotism tag, family legacy, worst criticism and a lot more.
Earlier, when a starkid entered into films, it was celebrated and same happened with Dharmendra’s son Sunny when he made his foray into films. But now the scenario has changed. When a kid of a celeb enters Bollywood, nepotism tag comes along with them and they are often criticised. When asked about it, Sunny told, “It has become very bad now. I mean it was not like that when we came into the industry or may be that time when we came into the industry, it was not youngsters coming, senior guys were playing every kind of role. So, when we came, we suddenly started stepping in and the youth started identifying with us because we were the youth. That thing was always there. But now it’s all youth, and youth and all the guys coming in are younger guys.”
The Gadar actor added, “But it’s more difficult for a person coming from the same fraternity. They say it’s easy. I say it’s the most difficult for a person who come from there because there is such a huge thing standing there and they have to prove themselves no matter what which is not fair. Because, at the end of the day, people like you, hate you but they shouldn’t like or hate you from where you are”.

Sunny also said that when he came into the industry, he wasn’t bothered about all these things. But he is always worried about his children. His elder son Karan has already entered Bollywood and younger one, Rajveer is all set. The actor added, “Inside all the time you are always having a fear factor. Not for yourself but for your children.”
