Sunny Deol on ending his 16-year feud with Shah Rukh Khan: Everyone knows what wrong or right we did

Sunny Deol delivered the biggest hit of this year with the release of Gadar 2. The movie continues to acquire the top spot as 4th highest-grossing Hindi movie of 2023. The movie resurrected Sunny’s career to a great extent marking him as one of the bankable stars in the Bollywood industry. The success of Gadar 2 was followed by a grand party which was attended by Shah Rukh Khan ending his 16-year-old feud with Sunny Deol. Reflecting on the moment, Sunny shared how the two have moved on.

This year we witnessed the reconciliation of his long-standing differences with Shah Rukh Khan, symbolised by a joint appearance at the success celebration of Gadar 2. In an interview, the actor spoke about the moment and shared how they have let go of their differences. Sunny told Hindustan Times, “Everybody has moved ahead in life. and mentally happy, secure with what they have. When they were younger, they weren’t like that. Now everybody is happy and satisfied. Everyone of us knows what wrong or right we did. Time is a healer. It’s best to leave it there. I was so happy that everyone turned up at my party.”

What went wrong between Sunny Deol and Shah Rukh Khan

After co-starring in Yash Chopra’s 1993 film Darr, the actors went 16 years without speaking to each other. During the filming of Darr, Sunny was dissatisfied with how his character, the protagonist, was portrayed in the film. Despite being an antagonist, SRK stole the limelight and Sunny was irked by it.

On the work front, the actor will next be seen in Rajkumar Santoshi’s Lahore 1947 bankrolled by Aamir Khan productions.
