Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel are currently gearing up for the release of the most highly-anticipated sequel of Gadar 2. The first part of the movie Gadar: Ek Prem Katha release back in 2001. Since the sequel was announced every detail and development around the movie has kept us on the hook. To add to the already-created hype, Sunny Deol joined the famous comedy show of Kapil Sharma and revealed that when Bollywood tried to pull down Gadar.
Sunny Deol reveals Bollywood was against Gadar: Ek Prem Katha
Just as much as we are excited to see Sunny Deol reprise his role of Tara Singh in Gadar 2, so is he. He entered Kapil Sharma in his character’s avatar with a fresh wave of energy. Kapil inquired him how he feels ahead of the film’s release, and Sunny responded in Punjabi. He said, “There is excitement but also nervousness.” Talking about the time when the first part of the movie was released in 2001, he revealed, “When the film had released then, everyone in the industry… (gestured thumbs down).” Sunny went on to show gratitude and said, “But the way the audiences pulled it up, everyone just changed.”
In a recent event, Sunny Deol revealed that Bollywood distributors were not ready to take on the film because it had Punjabi dialogues. He further went on to share that the audience’s love was what encourage them to make part 2.
Gadar: Ek Prem Katha was one of the most loved films of its time. Now, with Sunny as Tara and Ameesha as Sakina, fans are ready to witness their magic on screen again with Gadar 2. One of the songs, Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava is already out and it took us down memory lane. I can’t wait to experience what their story holds next!
Directed by Anil Sharma, Gadar 2 will hit theatres on August 11. The movie will be clashing with Akshay Kumar’s Oh My God 2.
