Sunny Deol reveals he was ‘scared’ to do Gadar 2, here’s why- WATCH video

Sunny Deol unveiled the trailer of his much-awaited film Gadar 2: The Katha Continues on Wednesday. Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel are back as Tara Singh and Sakina in Gadar 2: The Katha Continues. The trailer gave us a glimpse of Sunny and Ameesha’s love story, as well as Sunny’s action avatar. Well, Sunny as Tara is back with a bang and there’s no denying that.

Sunny made a dapper appearance at the trailer launch of Gadar 2 in the city. The actor was joined by his co-star Ameesha Patel. At the event, Sunny revealed that he was scared to do Gadar 2.

At the event, Sunny said, “Gadar joh thi, humlog ne toh banayi thi lekin logon ne usse Gadar bana diya tha. Aur aisi Gadar banai ki uske baad asman pe utha liya. Aur humesha dar lagta hai ki ek picture joh itni complete film ho, usse firse cheda jaye. Toh isliye mein darr bohot raha tha. Woh Gadar, Gadar thi aur abhi umeed karta hu ki ye Gadar bhi Gadar bane (The rebellion that it was, we had created it, but people turned it into a revolt. And they made such a revolt that it was lifted to the skies. And I am always afraid that a picture that is such a complete film, might be tampered with again. That’s why I was very scared. That revolt was a revolt, and now I hope that this revolt becomes a revolt too).”

Given the response to Gadar’s trailer and songs, Sunny said that he wishes the sequel wins hearts. He added, “Bas umeed karta hu ki woh Gadar jaise aapke dil ko chuhi thi, ye bhi aapke Dilon ko chuhe aur josh bhar de apne parivaar ke liye, desh ke liye because sabse badi taqat pyaar hi hoti hai. Aur pyaar se badi taqat kuch nahi (I only hope that just like the movie ‘Gadar’ touched your heart, this also touches your hearts and ignites the passion for your family, for your country, because the greatest power of all is love. And there is nothing mightier than the power of love).”

Gadar 2 is a sequel to Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which was released in 2001. The first part was also directed by Anil Sharma. Going by the Gadar 2 trailer, Anil is back with a story that’ll leave you impressed.

Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 will clash with OMG 2 at the box office

For the uninitiated, Sunny and Ameesha starrer Gadar 2: The Katha Continues will be releasing on the same day as Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam starrer Oh My God: OMG 2. While Akshay played Lord Krishna in OMG, in the sequel he is playing Lord Shiva. On the other hand, Pankaj plays devotee of Lord Shiva and Yami will be seen as a lawyer. The upcoming sequel is directed by Amit Rai. Gadar 2 will clash with OMG 2 on 11th August.
