In an unfortunate turn of events, late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s five relatives passed away in a major road accident on Tuesday morning in Bihar, reported IANS. The incident happened on National Highway number 333 in Bihar’s Lakhisarai district.
Reportedly, Sushant Singh Rajput’s family members were on their way back from Patna where they had gone for the last rites of Geeta Devi, senior Haryana police officer OP Singh’s sister. OP Singh is married to Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister, said police sources.
Confirming the unfortunate accident, Lakhisarai superintendent of police (SP) Sushil Kumar said: “It was a massive collision between a truck and a Sumo [an SUV] in which ten persons were returning from Patna. Six persons including the driver of the Sumo were killed on the spot while four injured have been shifted to hospital in critical condition,” reported Hindustan Times.
Currently, the bodies of the deceased have been sent to Lakhisarai hospital for post-mortem. While the two injured- Balmukund Singh and Dil Khush Singh have been sent to Patna for better treatment facilities, and the remaining as well, Balmiki Singh and Tonu Singh, have been admitted at Lakhisarai district hospital.
The victims have been identified as Laljit Singh (brother-in-law of OP Singh), his two sons Amit Shekhar, Ram Chandra Singh, Baby Devi, Anita Devi, and driver Preetam Kumar. Sushant’s family is yet to issue an official statement on the accident.
