Sushant Singh Rajput’s father KK Singh filed an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty, her family and some others for ‘abetment of suicide’. After CBI took over the case, they are pursuing all the allegations levelled against Rhea by Sushant’s family. Amidst the interrogation by ED, Rhea has reached out to Supreme Court again as she filed a new affidavit stating unfair media trial and being made a scapegoat of political agendas.

According to a report in NDTV, Rhea has filed an affidavit stating that the unfair media trial is causing her trauma and she wants it to end. The actress even pointed out that despite the ongoing investigation she is already painted as a culprit in the media trial. She even stated that she is being made a “scapegoat of political agendas” and requested SC’s protection against “extreme trauma and infringement of privacy”.

Rhea has also denied all the allegations levelled against her by Sushant’s family. She said that Bihar CM Nitish Kumar is responsible for FIR in Patna. “The issue is blown out of proportion in (the) media. Media channels are examining and cross-examining all the witnesses in the case. Petitioner has already been convicted by the media even before foul play in the death of Sushant Singh Rajput is established, “ reads Rhea’s affidavit. Citing the example of 2G scam and Talwar murder case, Rhea said, “Media had convicted the accused… each and every accused was later on found innocent by the courts.”

On CBI taking over Sushant’s death case, the actress said in her petition, “It is submitted that the transfer of investigation to CBI by Bihar Police is illegal and bad in law. However, the Petitioner reiterated that she has no objection if this Hon’ble Court refers the matter to CBI by its order and even if the CBI investigates the matter the jurisdiction will still be with the Courts at Mumbai and not at Patna.”

“Investigations into financial scams of thousands of crores by Enforcement Directorate and CBI never see the light of day and, at the drop of a hat, cases get registered even without jurisdiction,” reads another part of her affidavit.

The SC will be hearing Rhea’s plea today. The Apex court is expected to clear mandate about the jurisdiction of investigation.
