Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar has said that he has given a recommendation for a CBI Probe in Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide case. Republic TV quoted him saying, “We have already said they have lodged FIR. It is the duty of Bihar police to investigate on that basis. If they wish to transfer to CBI, it will be done immediately. I have spoken to the DGP. From here recommendation is being given for a CBI probe. We have Sushant’s family’s consent. It will be done today itself. Proceedings will be started.” He also criticised Mumbai Police for their non-cooperation and stated that officers being put under quarantine is unacceptable.
He further said, “We want CBI probe in this matter. Bihar Police came into action after FIR was lodged. This is natural for us to probe. We will recommend the probe for CBI. It will be better in a way. There was nothing significant happening there. Cooperation was expected from there which was not given. What happened with him, it’s very very unfortunate.”

Fans of Sushant and several celebs have been demanding for a CBI probe into Sushant’s case. Later, his family also came forward and requested the same.
Post Nitish Kumar’s statement, Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer, Satish Maneshinde told ANI, “There can’t be transfer of a case which had no legal basis for Bihar to get involved. At most, it would be a ‘Zero FIR’ transferable to Mumbai Police. Transfer of a case, on which they had no jurisdiction, to CBI has no legal sanctity”.
