Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case: Rakul Preet Singh moves High Court against media trial over the drug probe

Rhea Chakraborty has been arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in relation to the drug conspiracy in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. The actress was sent to 14 days judicial custody. Earlier it was reported that Rhea has allegedly revealed more than 20 names A-lister actors’ name during her interrogation with NCB.

Rhea has allegedly named several Bollywood celebs like Rakul Preet Singh, Sara Ali Khan who consumed drugs with her and Sushant. Now Rakul has moved to High Court against the media trial in this drug probe.

According to a report by ANI, Rakul has approached the Delhi High Court against the current media trial. Through her lawyer, she has submitted that ‘media reports are being run in contravention with I&B Ministry guidelines’.

The report also stated that the Delhi High Court has directed the Centre, Prasar Bharati and News Broadcasters Association to consider Rakul’s plea as a representation and expeditiously decide it including any interim directions that ought to be issued.

Earlier, NCB had denied there is any list of Bollywood stars in relation to the drug probe. According to a report by Free Press Journal, NCB deputy director KPS Malhotra had said, “We have not prepared any Bollywood list. The list earlier prepared was of peddlers and traffickers. It’s getting confused with Bollywood.”

However, later the Deputy Director of NCB told India Today that Sara Ali Khan, Simone Khambatta and Rakul Preet are under investigation. He said, “No summons sent till now but summons can be sent in the coming days.”
