Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case: Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer claims FIR filed by CBI against the actress is ‘illegal’

Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case has been handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The investigative agency has now filed an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty, her family members and others. Reacting to the FIR filed against Rhea, her lawyer Satish Maneshinde has called it illegal. The CBI FIR states, “The investigation of FIR No. 241/2020 dated 25.07.2020 registered u/s 341, 342, 380, 406, 420, 306, 506, 120B IPC, PS- Rajiv Nagar, District-Patna, related to the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput has been transferred to Central Bureau of Investigation for investigation.”

Now reacting to this FIR, as per a report in Zoom TV, Rhea’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde released a statement, a part of which reads, “The Bihar Government transferred a case with which it had No Jurisdiction to investigate, to CBI instead of The Mumbai Police, which is the legal position. The Hon’ble Supreme Court is seized of the issue pursuant to the Transfer Petition filed by Rhea Chakraborty. The SC has directed all parties to file their replies and Mumbai Police are directed to place the report of investigations.”

The lawyer’s statement further states, “Pending the said proceedings the CBI has registered and continued the illegality which was perpetrated at the hands of Bihar Police. CBI being a premier investigative agency in the country should desist from taking any further steps pending the SC proceedings. Apart from the same unless the Maharashtra Government consents to CBI investigating the case… it would be totally illegal and beyond any known legal principles, affecting the Federal Structure of the Nation.”

On the other hand, earlier today Rhea, her brother Showik and her former manager Shruti Modi arrived at Enforcement Directorate office to record their statement in connection to the money laundering case that was filed after Sushant’s father KK Singh filed an FIR against Rhea and her family members.
