Mumbai Police have been thoroughly investigation Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide case. As per a report by PTI, Mumbai Police have sent the cloth, allegedly used by Sushant to hang himself, to a forensic lab for “tensile strength” test. The analysis will show whether the piece of cloth can bear around 80 kg of the actor.
An official told PTI, “The test will help determine if there was any foul play.”
As per the investigation, Sushant hanged himself from the ceiling using a green coloured nightgown made of cotton. The official said, “Besides the viscera from the actor’s body, the police also sent the gown for chemical and forensic analysis at the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in suburban Kalina. It will take at least three more days to get the final forensic report.”
He added, “To ascertain the exact cause of death, forensic experts will check pattern of ligature marks around the actor’s neck and also determine the strength of the gown with the help of “tensile strength” analysis.” Experts are said to be taking more precautions to avoid any kind of error in their analysis.
Sushant, 34 was found hanging at his Bandra residence on June 14. The final post-mortem report of the actor that came from Cooper Hospital, mentioned the cause of the death as “asphyxia due to hanging”.
Till now, the police have recorded statements of 29 people, including Sushant’s family members, close friends, girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, casting director Mukesh Chhabra and others.
