In 2018, in the row of #MeToo movement, in October, there were reports of Sushant Singh Rajput allegedly misbehaving with his ‘Dil Bechara’ co-star Sanjana Sanghi. ‘Pavitra Rishta’ director and Sushant’s close friend, Kushal Zaveri has revealed in his Instagram post how these reports affected Sushant.
In the Instagram post, Kushal has said that he is putting the information out “not only for closure sake but to also find out if the people Sushant thought were targetting him were actually behind this”. In the post, he wrote that he stayed with Sushant from July 2018 to February 2019 and that “the most vulnerable” he had ever seen the actor was in October 2018 during the #MeToo movement.
He wrote, “We tried our best to contact Sanjana Sanghi but it seems she was in USA and was not available for any comment (strange coincidence). Sushant knew in the back of his mind who was targetting him but didn’t have proof to call them out(sic)”.
Kushal further wrote, “I remember how Sushant couldn’t sleep for four nights waiting for Sanjana to clear the allegations… Finally, she cleared his name on the fifth day and it all seemed like a hard-earned victory as if the battle was over.”

For the unversed, Sushant played Manav Deshmukh in ‘Pavitra Rishta’ that made him a household name. Ankita Lokhande played his wife.
On June 14, Sushant was found dead at his Bandra residence. The Mumbai Police was investigating the case but on July 25, his father KK Singh filed an FIR against his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty for abetting his suicide, theft, and cheating.
