Sushant Singh Rajput is one of the few actors who made a great transition from television to films. The actor made an impressive debut with ‘Kai Po Che’ an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s novel ‘3 Mistakes of my Life.’ It was not long when Aditya Chopra, noticed his potential and offered him a three film deal with his banner Yash Raj Films. Their association was going pretty well with Sushant playing lead in ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ and ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!’ But there is shocking news for the ones who were expecting the ‘Kai Po Che’ star in his next venture with the reputed banner.
Apparently, Sushant Singh Rajput has called off his contract with YRF Banner ending the chances of the third project. According to Sources, the third project Sushant was signed on was ‘Paani’ under the direction of Shekhar Kapur claiming to be his most ambitious project. But the project was delayed and finally Shekhar Kapoor parted ways with Aditya Chopra taking ‘Paani’ out of YRF which didn’t go well the actor as well.
Sushant had to let go ‘Fitoor’ movie under Abhishek Kapoor who helmed his debut film due to the contract. But the final straw came with the casting of next hyped project of YRF titled ‘Befikre’ which is marking Aditya Chopra’s return to film direction after a gap of 7 years. Sources say, “Adi had promised Sushant ‘Befikre’ and then gave it to Ranveer without informing the actor. This upset him and he has decided not to associate with YRF anymore.”
Confirming this news from YRF, a spokesperson from the Banner said, “Sushant is no longer a part of our talent team. We wish him all the best in future endeavours.”
With ending of this association, Sushant Singh Rajput is currently shooting for the biopic on cricketer MS Dhoni titled ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’ directed by Neeraj Pandey. The film is slated to release next year in 2016.
