Sushant Singh Rajput’s nine month death anniversary: Fans of the late actor unite for global protest rallies and demand justice

Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead on June 14, 2020, at his Bandra residence. Post his death, media reports claimed that Rajput was battling clinical depression and there was a professional rivalry. Mumbai Police started investigating the case focussing on these two angles. The postmortem report confirmed that he died by suicide and Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said that the depression angle will also be probed. Several friends and peers of Sushant including his ex-girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty were investigated and police even recorded their statements. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) came into the scene when Sushant’s father KK Singh filed a money laundering case against Rhea and others. Fans and the family of Sushant demanded a CBI investigation into the case. In August, the Supreme Court ordered a CBI inquiry into his death case. Then the drugs angle too cropped up and the case was handled by three central agencies-the Enforcement Directorate, the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Narcotics Control Bureau. Rhea and her brother Showik were even arrested but they were granted bail later.

It has been nine months since Sushant’s death but no final judgement has come out on the case. Fans and followers of the actor all across the globe have started peaceful digital protests to raise their voice demanding justice for the late actor. SSR fans gathered for the global protest rally on March 14 in India and around the Bay Area, California.

They have requested CBI to come out with some updates on the case as it has been nine months.

This is not the first time the fans of the Kedarnath actor have united for rallies. Earlier too on his six month death anniversary, there were rallies all across the globe demanding justice. Like SSR fans, we are also eagerly waiting that the CBI comes up with the final update on the case.
