Former actress and beauty queen Sushmita Sen‘s brother Rajeev Sen married his actress-girlfriend Charu Asopa in a court marriage. The couple will have a traditional wedding as per Hindu rituals in Goa on June 16. The happily married couple shared pictures of their court marriage on their social media handles thereby sharing the lovely news with their friends and family.

Posting a few simply beautiful pictures of his wife, Rajeev captioned them as, “I Rajeev Sen take Charu Asopa as my lawful wife#rajakibittu”

Revealing the reason behind registering their marriage ahead of their wedding, Charu told Times of India,“We wanted to register our marriage closer to our wedding functions, but it got scheduled a bit earlier. Rajeev’s mother, his uncle and my best friend were present as witnesses. The registration is a formality. We feel like we have been married to each other since the day we met. Our families will solemnise our wedding in Goa.”

One of the guests present at Rajeev and Charu’s court marriage informed the daily, “Since, white is the colour of purity and red signifies love, Rajeev sported a white kurta-pyjama, while Charu wore a red sari for the wedding. The newly-weds then went to Mount Mary Church and Siddhivinayak Temple to seek blessings.”

While we are extremely happy for Rajeev and Charu, however, we wonder why Sushmita was missing from the couple’s court marriage. Perhaps she will be directly attending their traditional wedding in Goa. Earlier she had shared pictures of Rajeev with Charu on her Instagram handle. Also joining them was her boyfriend Rohman Shawl.

Charu made her television debut with ‘Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo’ and is popularly known for her role in ‘Mere Angne Mein’. She has also been part of several other popular shows like ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, ‘Bade Achhe Lagte Hain’, ‘Devon Ke Dev …Mahadev’, ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’.
