Sushmita Sen celebrates 27 years of her Miss Universe pageant in an emotional post; Rohman Shawl, Renee pour love

Sushmita Sen gets nostalgic about her most glorious moment when she was crowned the Miss Universe title in Manila Philippines 27 years ago in 1994. On this day. Sushmita Sen took to her social media post and shared a throwback pic from her beauty pageant days. On her Twitter page, she has written, “To my Motherland INDIA…Happy 27th anniversary of India’s first-ever victory at #MissUniverse in Manila #Philippines. That early morning of 21st May 1994, not only changed an 18 yr olds life forever…it made History!! An honour forever cherished!! #MissUniverse1994 ??

Miss Universe 1994 was held at the Plenary Hall of the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay, Philippines. 77 contestants participated. Outgoing title holder Dayanara Torres of Puerto Rico crowned Sushmita. Carolina Gomez of Colombia was the first runner-up of the pageant in 1994.

I have,” Sushmita added in her Instagram post that also includes a stunning throwback picture of the actress in a white gown.

The 45-year-old actress also mentioned Carolina Gomez in her post as she said, “Thank you #MissColombia1994 Carolina @carogomezfilms for teaching me undying grace!! Thank you to all the kind and loving people, from around the globe that touched my life from a VERY young age and inspired the woman I am today!! Eternally grateful I remain! Thank you all for the precious messages and generous blessings…I celebrate with you…ALWAYS!! I LOVE YOU GUYS!”

She signed off with a special message for her fans and followers: “The abundant Universe doesn’t know impossibilities, it only manifests your beliefs. Choose wisely!”

Boyfriend Rohman Shawl and daughter Renee also celebrated 27 years of her being crowned Miss Universe. Rohman took to his Instagram Stories and showered her with love. He wrote, “27 years of glory Thank you (Sushmita) for bringing the crown home and thank you for inspiring us ever since #27years #Bestmissuniverseever.”

Daughter Renee also took to her Instagram Stories and celebrated the memory. The post featured a framed picture of Sushmita’s moment of victory, along with a note for her mother. Renee wrote, “27 years of creating HISTORY!!!!! Here’s to celebrating you, always Maa,” with a heart emoji.

Sen made her debut in Bollywood in 1996 with Dastak and subsequently starred in the films Sirf Tum, Biwi No.1, Filhaal and Main Hoon Na. She was last seen in a web series called Aarya. She has also started her shooting for the second season.
