Swara Bhaskar

Actress Swara Bhaskar has always been daring enough to speak about the most crucial social issues. Recently on the context of JNU controversy, Swara wrote an open letter to Umar Khalid (A Ph.D student at JNU and a former leader of the Democratic student Union), which went viral, exposing her to sheer aggressive verbal attacks. This time, Swara has taken her stand against the issue of child sexual abuse.

Swara feels that the children need to be in a state of awareness so that they can figure out sexual abuse. Presently, discussions about sexual abuse with kids hardly take place. As a result, they either don’t understand that they’re being sexually abused, or they are so scared or embarrassed that they don’t speak up. This needs to change, feels Swara.

As a part of this initiative, the actress will be seen reciting poems in a video. The poems that talk about how children are often subject to sexual abuse, have been penned down by filmmaker Manish Gupta.
