Swara Bhasker makes a bold statement on Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul controversy

‘Koffee with Karan 6’ had been going through the motions until Indian cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul graced the couch. The duo got carried away and made some sexist and misogynistic comments. Now, Board of control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have suspended both these cricketers pending an inquiry.

Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker is a staunch feminist and believes in calling spade a spade. The ‘Veere Di Wedding’ actress is no stranger to controversies and more often than not gets trolled by netizens. Now, Swara took to micro-blogging site Twitter and made her views quite clear on the Pandya-Rahul controversy.

Recently, the Committee of Administrators (COA) headed by Vinod Rai and Diana Edulji requested the Supreme Court of India to appoint an ombudsman for the further inquiry in the case. While many have been slamming Hardik and Rahul over their comments, many have spoken in support of them.

The entire row has grabbed national headlines and both KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya have been severely criticised. ‘Koffee with Karan 6’s tagline is ‘stop making sense’ and both these cricketers implemented that literally. Hopefully, this controversy gets sorted and Rahul and Pandya should be back on the cricket field, where they belong.
