Swara Bhaskar recently opened up about the B Grade actress comment Kangana Ranaut made against her. In an exclusive interview with us, Sawara said that these comments came from an agenda and she did not feel bad as it was not ‘fair criticism of her work at all. The tiff between Kangana and Swara had made headlines for days but Swara said that she does feel bad when ‘someone is showing their lowest self’. Kangana and Swara had worked together in two films earlier, Tanu Weds Manu and Tanu Weds Manu Returns.
Swara told Bollywood Bubble, “I think I was lucky when anybody raised that kind of comments about my work there were so many people to defend me. I didnt have to say anything myself. I think I also understand that some of these comments, these vicious comments, come from an agenda. They’re not actually commenting on my work, they are not even commenting on my performance. I will accept a fair criticism of my performance, I mean I can watch some of my performances and tell you where I think I’ve not done a good enough job. Some of them are considered to be my most well-remembered performances that I have won awards for. So I’m absolutely open to fair cristism. But those kind of commets are a kind of trolling. I don’t take them seriously because I don’t take trolling seriously. It’s comepletely silly, baseless and pointless. I think all of this actually says more about that person than it does about me. Why should I feel bad about someone showing their lowest self; they should feel bad.”
She further added, “I actually dont read comments, I actually don’t see a lot of things that are said about me. Sometimes when it is a blue tick verified account that is saying something, I only track so coversations because those are lesser. There are a lot of things that I dont react to, but sometimes I do, sometimes I even react to things that people are telling me I shouldn’t and I should let it go. But I do because I want to make that point; not to just that person but also to everybody who is listening to our conversation. I really want to tell people, that you should never be bullied, never get bullied in the silence. The first thing that we need to learn in life is to stand up for ourselves. If we can’t stand up for ourselves, we will not be able to stand up for anyone else.”
