Swastika Mukherjee has been getting lots of love for her character in Sushant Singh Rajput starrer ‘Dil Bechara’. She also worked with him in 2015’s ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!’. Recently, she tweeted slamming the fans for watching ‘Byomkesh Bakshy!’ after Sushant’s death.
When we asked Swastika what made her to tweet, she said, “I was really angry and annoyed because when ‘Dil Bechara’ was announced that it will be releasing on Disney+Hotstar, there was a huge uproar on social media and people had gone mad. I just felt like when his film was released in theatres, why didn’t you all go and watch the film then? The rest of all his films have released in theatres and how many have watched those films? Of course, they didn’t. Then why are they making hue and cry releasing ‘Dil Bechara’ in theatres? Also, they kept on saying that ‘release it on the theatres as a tribute to Sushant Singh Rajput’. Producers can release it anywhere as a tribute to him. I think our sentiments after somebody has passed away becomes bigger than the compassion we have when they are alive. I keep this saying all the time that our ‘regret is always bigger than gratitude’. Once everything is gone and lost, we wake up from our sleep. When the person was alive, why didn’t you make anything happen?”

It was mixed emotions for Swastika to watch ‘Dil Bechara’. Sharing her feelings, she said, “As a part of the movie, it makes me happy but also it is an upsetting situation at times. Don’t know whether I am more happy or sad. Mind and heart are not in sync. I couldn’t watch it as an audience and also objectively. Somewhere the real and the reel lines got blurred and I feel that whatever is happening in the film there is a strong connection which is in reality. In reality, Sushant is not there and we are watching his film, and in ‘Dil Bechara’ Manny is not there and we are watching his film. The moment you think of it, it just hits you in a very sad way.”
