‘Taanaji’: Kajol to star opposite hubby Ajay Devgn; shoot starts today

Ajay Devgn and Kajol are known as one of the best couples of B-town. The real-life couple, who were last seen in ‘Toonpur Ka Superrhero’ (2010), is gearing up for yet another project now. A lot of speculations have been made about the duo collaborating on the screen for yet another big budget film. Now, the good news is here for Kajol and Ajay’s fans.

Earlier, there were speculations tha Kajol has been in talks for a very special role in Ajay Devgn’s ‘Taanaji’. As reported by DNA, Kajol will start shooting for Ajay Devgn’s ‘Taanaji- The Unsung Warrior’ today in Mumbai.

A source told the leading daily, “Kajol has begun shooting in Mumbai from yesterday. When she was approached for the film, she felt it’s the perfect script for her, since she already has a strong Marathi base. The actress will be seen as a pillar of strength to Ajay Devgn’s character as his wife in the film.”

Ajay Devgn is essaying the life of Maratha military leader ‘Tanaji Malusare’ who played a pivotal role in the 1670’s battle of Sinhagad. The period drama, which is set against the backdrop of war and politics, also stars Saif Ali Khan in a pivotal role. As confirmed by Saif himself, he is playing portraying a negative character (Udaybhan Rathore) in the film.

‘Taanaji – The Unsung Warrior’ is an Om Raut directorial and is produced under the banner of Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series. The film is slated to release in November 2019.
