Powerhouse performers Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar will soon be sharing the screen space in Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming production. The movie, that is based on the life of sharpshooter sisters Chandro and Prakashi Tomar has gone through several changes and delays. First, it was Kriti Sanon and Taapsee in the lead, then the film got pushed and eventually, Kriti opted out of it.
Now, Bhumi Pednekar has replaced Kriti in the film. In the film, both Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar will be seen playing octogenarians. Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, its story is based on the world’s oldest sharpshooters Chandro (86) and Prakashi (81) who hail from Uttar Pradesh. Veteran filmmaker Prakash Jha will be playing a baddie in this project.
The film was earlier titled ‘Womaniya’, but now there’s a big change in that as well! A source close to the development informed us, “‘Womaniya’ was just the working title of the film. The team discussed the idea and wanted a quirky title to match the tone and setting of the gritty biopic. So they have now decided to call it ‘Saand Ki Aankh’, which in English means bull’s eye.”
Now that’s a very quirky title, don’t you guys agree?
The official announcement regarding the same will be made soon.
And for more such interesting updates, keep watching this space.
