Taapsee Pannu has THIS to say about the sequel to Haseen Dillruba

Taapsee Pannu is one of those actresses in Hindi cinema who knows how to effortlessly immerse and transform herself in any character that she is given. From playing a confident, modern housewife to a cunning women, an athlete and what not, the actress has done it all. This weekend, she is stepping into the shoes of former Indian Women Cricket team captain Mithali Raj in her biopic Shabaash Mithu, but before that, she has an interesting update on one of her recent projects.

Last year, about this same time, Taapsee Pannu starred in the dark thriller Haseen Dillruba that featured her as a fiesty girl Rani, who gets married to a simple guy Rishu, played by Vikrant Massey but then she gets attracted to his cousin played by Harshvardhan Rane, and starts an extra marital affair with him. What followed formed quite a thrilling story that received a divided response from the audience.

While there was a section who appreciated and applauded the bold and mysterious take of the story, there were some who found it a little too rebellious. In any case, the film became quite talked about and now in a recent interview with India Today, Taapsee has given an interesting update on its sequel.

Hinting towards the possibility of it, the actress said, “I am glad that people actually started anticipating it as soon as the film was released. People who saw it said it has the scope of a second part. I think it is them who has made us all think. I think Kanika (Dhillon) and Aanand (L Rai) sir are definitely on that job right now to try and see if it can turn into reality.”

Well, it would be interesting to see where Rani and Rishu’s story will be headed in the sequel, if it happens, or if we will get to see another completely new story altogether. As for now, Taapsee is all focused on the release of Shabaash Mithu tomorrow.
